Executive Director – Greater Twin Cities
Our Client is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping promising low- income high school students earn admission to college. The organization currently serves two regions and plans to expand nationally to ten locations in the next ten years.  The Executive Director for the Greater Twin Cities will report to the CEO and will be responsible for the overall operations of the Twin Cities site.  He/she will provide overall management for all operational areas of the site, including: human resources, information technology, facilities management, purchasing, budgeting, finance and accounting.  He/She will directly supervise the Program Director, Development Director and Operations Coordinator.

The ideal candidate will have five or more years of successful senior management experience leading a growing, fiscally sound organization.  A proven personal track record of successful fundraising and experience building upon an organization’s base of support are required.  To succeed in this position, the ideal candidate must have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Development Director – Twin Cities
Our Client is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping promising low- income high school students earn admission to college.  The organization currently serves two Midwest regions and plans to expand nationally to ten locations in the next ten years. The Development Director will lead development and communication initiatives for the site.  Reporting to the Executive Director – Greater Twin Cities, the Development Director will provide leadership to three full-time staff and be responsible for creating the fundraising and communication strategy for the site.  He/She will also be personally involved in raising the funds to meet the budgeted targets and will develop and manage all components of the site’s strategic fundraising plan, including annual giving, special events, direct mail and corporation and foundation fundraising

The ideal candidate will be an experienced development professional with a track record of successful fundraising and leadership.  The Development Director will have five to seven years of progressively responsible development experience, with a minimum of three years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.  To succeed in this position, he/she must have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. President/Executive Vice President, Center For Healthcare Innovation (recently completed)

Our Client is a large Upper Midwest not-for-profit healthcare system that has newly created The Center for Healthcare Innovation, a living laboratory for researching new care models and treatments to transform health and health care.  The Center will advance our Client’s strategic vision to improve patient care and serve as a catalyst for change in health care locally and nationally.  The President/EVP position reports to the CEO of the System and provides overall strategic and operational leadership to the Center for Healthcare Innovation.  He/she will work to make The Center a national leader in creating innovative, sustainable models of care and sharing best practices and innovation. The Center is comprised of four separate but interrelated functions:  Care Model Innovation, Research Support, Community Benefit, and Public Policy.

The ideal candidate will be a bold, visionary leader who wants to transform healthcare. He/she will have ten years in progressively responsible positions in healthcare operations, public policy, research, philanthropy or community benefit. The candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in managing within complex, matrixed organizations, in collaborating and partnering with diverse groups, and in working with and utilizing a strong Board of Directors.  An MBA, MPH, MHA, MD, PhD or related healthcare master’s degree is required. 


Executive Vice President of Philanthropy (recently completed)

Our Client is an upper Midwest not-for-profit family of hospitals, clinics and other care services dedicated to meeting the lifelong healthcare needs of its communities.  The Board of Directors has designated philanthropy as a top priority across the system and has created a Philanthropy Committee and an Office of Philanthropy to help strengthen its overall case for philanthropic support and to build the necessary infrastructure to take philanthropy to the next level across the system.  The Executive Vice President of Philanthropy will lead all philanthropy initiatives across the system with all the philanthropy staff reporting directly to the Office of Philanthropy.  He/She will be responsible for continuing the migration to a centralized philanthropy structure by 2010.  The EVP of Philanthropy will be a national leader in health care philanthropy and will articulate the system-wide philanthropic vision.

The ideal candidate will be an experience philanthropic executive with a demonstrated track record of success in a sophisticated healthcare fundraising environment.  Direct experience managing a large team and working with and utilizing a strong Board of Directors will be important.  The successful candidate will be an innovator who brings new ideas and strategies to the Office of Philanthropy.  Solid education credentials are a must; an advanced degree and professional fundraising accreditation (Certified Fundraising Executive “CFRE” or Fellow for the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy “FAHP”) or equivalent experience is preferred.  It is expected that if a candidate does not have a CFRE or FAHP credential, that he/she will attain a CFRE certification within 18 months. 

Executive Director, Community Health Center (recently completed)
Large, complex, urban community health center that provides accessible health care to diverse communities seeks experienced healthcare executive to provide overall strategic and operational leadership to the organization and bring a strong vision for its future.  The position will play a key role in the development and implementation of strategic objectives and related business plans and budgets.  The Executive Director will ensure the delivery of appropriate health care programs and services to meet the needs of the communities it serves, will promote the image of the organization, and actively engage in the affairs of these communities. 

The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and has six direct reports: Clinical Operations Director, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Human Resources Director/Chief Administrative Officer, Dental Director, and Development Director.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned health care executive with a demonstrated track record of success in managing a large, complex organization, including at least 5 years of experience in the administration of a major clinic.  Experience with a federally qualified health center is strongly preferred.  A background working with a variety of constituencies, such as municipal, state and federal government agencies, foundations and community groups, is critical to success in this position.  Strong skills in financial management, resource development, information management and effective team building are required.  Experience working with diverse populations is essential.  Additional experience in advocacy and public policy will be a plus. 


Assistant to the President (recently completed)

Our Client is a public, nonprofit, nondenominational cemetery providing services to the families of Minnesota.  It is more than a cemetery – it is also an educational resource, which offers group tours, exhibits and events, and boasts 250  acres of exquisitely landscaped grounds.  The Assistant to the President will report to the President, and will work closely with him to oversee all operations at the cemetery.  He/she will also be charged with advancing the mission of the cemetery by becoming the face of the cemetery through continued civic, state and professional alliances.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.  He/she will bring experience as a general manager or administrative leader with a background supervising staff, managing operations, and overseeing budgets in a service business.  The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and have a background in finance and accounting.  Exposure to IT systems and implementations will be a plus.  An interest in history, architecture, and/or the outdoors (grounds and trees) is a plus.  A Bachelor’s degree is required. 


Vice President of Development, Upper Midwest (recently completed)
Our client, a regional provider of healthcare, educational and advocacy services, seeks an experienced Vice President of Development for their organization.  This position will be responsible for current giving/general operating fund raising and will provide leadership for the annual fund, events, development services, direct mail, e-fund raising, and foundation and donor relations.  The individual will be charged with building and retaining the organization’s donor base, managing the development team with an initial focus on recurring gifts, and working closely with high-level volunteers.  The position will interface closely with other vice presidents, program leaders and Board members and be a key member of the senior management team.

The Vice President, Development will report to the CEO and will provide leadership to the development team, working closely with the SVP to create the development strategy for the organization.  The position has four direct reports: Director of Individual Giving, Director of Fund Development, Director of Operations and Manager of Donor and Foundation Relations.  The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader who has demonstrated the ability to plan, organize, and implement a full-scale development program and to be an empowering team leader with the ability to set goals and drive toward results.  A bachelor’s degree is required.  AA/EEO.
