Vice President of Finance and Operations
Our Client is a Midwest-based national catalog/web retailer of rugged work apparel and gear.  The Company has seen strong growth since its inception in 1991, and today circulates 31 million catalogs annually.  By maintaining a keen focus on its customers, our client has been successful in developing new product niches.  The Company expects future growth will come organically through brand building, and through expansion of product and distribution channels, including the launch of retail stores.

The Vice President of Finance and Operations will report to the CEO and lead Finance, Operations, IT and Human Resources.  As one of the company’s three-person executive management committee, he/she will partner with the CEO and VP Chief Marketing Officer & Head Merchant to set company-wide strategy, policy and procedures within a rapid growth setting.  This position has four direct reports.

The ideal candidate will have a record of success within a rapidly growing multi-channel retail operation and have led an organization’s finance function as its chief financial officer.  He/she will have led or worked closely with the IT function, and ideally, will have had experience with an ERP and/or accounting general ledger software implementation.  Ideally, he/she will have a background in the apparel industry and a strong command of supply chain management, including experience in offshore sourcing and inventory management (Asia preferred).  A bachelor’s degree is required.  A master’s degree is preferred as well as a CPA.  Qualified candidates should send their resume to

Chief Financial Officer, Medical School Faculty Physicians Practice Group (Upper Midwest)

Our client is a large, integrated faculty physician group practice that provides quality health care and applies innovative research and education to the health care needs of the region.  The CFO reports directly to the CEO of the practice group and will be responsible for the finance, accounting and contracting functions.  The CFO will advise the CEO and Board on strategic fiscal policies that provide for growth and a solid financial future for the organization.  The ideal candidate will be a seasoned financial executive with a minimum of fifteen years of relevant experience, which will include complex physician group management, health systems experience, or work within an academic healthcare environment.  The CFO will be a disciplined and results-oriented financial executive who has been a senior member of a management team within a highly matrixed organization.  A four-year degree in finance or related field is required.  A Master’s Degree in Finance and/or a CPA will be a plus. Accounting Manager (recently completed)

Our Client is a nationwide catalog/web retailer of rugged work wear, apparel accessories, tools and other merchandise and is based in the Upper Midwest. The Company circulates 27 million catalogs annually and has seen strong growth since its inception in 1991.  The Company places a high priority on understanding its customers and their needs, which has led to the development of successful new product niches.

The Accounting Manager reports to the top financial officer in the Company and will be responsible for overall management of the accounting function.  This position assigns and audits the work of the accounting department and is engaged in the more critical and confidential aspects of accounting including monthly financial close, general ledger and annual audit and tax filings.

Ideal candidates for this role will demonstrate a high degree of attention to details, problem solving and follow-up.  The ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization will be key.  Strong oral and written communication skills and an advanced level of skill with Microsoft Excel and Word are an important requirement.  A 4-year accounting degree, a minimum 5 years accounting experience and a CPA certification is required.  Public accounting experience is a plus.


Managing Director (recently completed)
Our Client was originally founded to manage the financial and philanthropic needs of a multi-million dollar family foundation.  In 2004, it began offering its innovative investment management to other family foundations, private foundations and endowments with a minimum investment of $5MM.  The Managing Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of a strategic client acquisition plan and budget for investment management services for tax-exempt client and will grow the client base by cultivating his/her existing relationships and developing new client relationships. This position will supervise a full-time marketing and client service administrator.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a client service and business development professional with a track record of building and maintaining successful relationships with sophisticated clients.  The successful candidate will have broad knowledge of investment vehicles, asset allocation models and risk management strategies.  He/She will have a solid understanding of financial processes and procedures, including knowledge of tax and personal accounting.  The willingness to “wear many hats” is a critical success factor for this position.  The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree, with an MBA or relevant professional experience.
